IN-HOME PSYCHIATRIC CARE
In-home care is available to individuals who receive Florida Medicare benefits. Individuals that qualify for this service may encounter extreme difficulty when trying to leave the home. Conditions that cause the need for in-home care can include oxygen use, generalized weakness, use of assistive devices, lack of transportation, or high levels of anxiety before or after leaving for office appointments. Having a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner visit you or your loved one’s home reduces the stress involved with trying to arrange and organize transportation. This services is available to Sun City, Ruskin, Wimauma, Apollo Beach, Riverview, and Brandon.
TELEHEALTH
What is tele health? Telehealth is the distribution of health-related services and information via electronic information and telecommunication technologies. It allows long-distance patient and clinician contact, care, advice, reminders, education, intervention, monitoring. PIMHealth provides telehealth to individuals in the state of Florida. Clients that are appropriate for telehealth services are required to meet the following criteria
2. Present with a stable acute or stable chronic psychiatric illness. Stable infers to the lack of suicidal thoughts, tendencies, lack of homicidal thoughts or tendencies, overall mental stability that allows for basic functionality to be completed such as caring for yourself or others who are in your care, going to work, and performing other activities of daily living. HERBAL SUPPLEMENTS
Herbal medicine is the study of pharmacognosy and the use of medicinal plants, which are a basis of traditional medicine. Herbal supplements are regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but not as strictly as prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. They fall under a category called dietary supplements. PIMHealth utilizes herbal medication in supplement to and alongside traditional medications.
Some individuals require medication, but do not want to begin traditional medication that is available through your local pharmacy. PIMHealth utilizes Fullscript to fulfill our supplement needs. Maintaining mental stability is key to an improved quality of life. PIMHealth provides care in independent, assisted, and memory care living facilities. These services allow for the client to receive care in their home/room/apartment, and for the provider to assess what environmental causes may be related to the current concerns. Having a behavioral health professional visit the facility reduces the amount of stimulation an individual must endure, especially in conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. It is important, as a living facility to have caring, involved providers who understand the needs of your loved one.
